Thomson Pharma wins Queen's Award for Innovation 2008
Thomson Reuters is delighted to announce that it* has won the 2008 Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category for its pharmaceutical intelligence solution Thomson Pharma®
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious independently-judged awards for business performance and are internationally recognized markers of excellence. They are granted in three categories: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.
In presenting Thomson Reuters with the Queen's Award for Innovation, the judges recognized the contribution Thomson Pharma has made to the pharmaceutical industry in encouraging innovation, speeding up drug development, and driving cost efficiency. Thomson Pharma brings together the best of more than 40 pharmaceutical data sources owned by Thomson Reuters in a single, comprehensive solution that enables its users to simplify their information needs, supports and speeds their decision-making, and keeps them abreast of the market.
Jon Brett-Harris, Executive Vice President of pharmaceutical and chemical markets, collected the award at a ceremony in April. He said "We are thrilled to have been awarded the UK's most prestigious honor for innovation. Thomson Pharma is helping our customers discover new opportunities and accelerate the development of new drugs and therapies. We are proud to be directly contributing to improving research and development productivity and ultimately to improvements in quality of life."
*the award was granted while the business was known as Thomson Scientific Limited.
